Written moving quotes for your Work and Income application
Post your move for free and verified drivers can bid on it with a written price. SoundMove is an independent marketplace and is not connected to Work and Income. Whether any help is available, and any decision about it, rests entirely with Work and Income.
SoundMove is not affiliated with Work and Income in any way, and we have no part in their decisions. Eligibility for any assistance, and what an application needs, is entirely up to Work and Income, so your case manager or workandincome.govt.nz is the place to check. What we can offer is a free place to list your move so verified drivers can bid on it with a written price, which can be one less thing to organise at a stressful time.
How it works
Post your move, collect written prices
SoundMove is a marketplace, not a moving company. You post the details of your move (what needs shifting, the pick up and drop off addresses, and the date you are hoping for) and independent drivers decide whether they want the job and what to bid for it. Every driver on the platform is identity verified before they can bid. A bid shows a written figure alongside the driver's business name and what they have included, so you have something concrete in front of you rather than a rough phone estimate. Posting costs nothing and nothing is locked in until you say so.

Comparing bids
Looking at what comes in
Any bids you receive sit side by side in your account, so you can look at them properly rather than working off one number. You can read what each driver has included in their bid before you decide anything, and you are free to accept a bid or none at all. Where a driver has completed jobs, you can see their ratings and reviews, though a driver new to the platform may not have any yet. If you do go ahead, you are charged when you accept a bid, and SoundMove holds that payment securely until the job's done. We release it to the driver when you confirm, or automatically 24 hours after they mark it done if you haven't raised an issue.

Writing your listing
Details help drivers price it
When you write your listing, put in what you know. Add photos if you can, list the bigger items, and mention anything tricky like stairs, a long driveway or narrow access. A driver prices their bid off what they can see in the listing, so anything they do not know about up front is something you would need to sort out with them later. It works the same whether it is a few pieces of furniture or a flat's worth of boxes. And to say it plainly once more: SoundMove is independent of Work and Income, and any decision about assistance is theirs alone.

About Work and Income assistance
SoundMove is not affiliated with Work and Income. Whether you qualify for help with moving costs, and how much you may receive, is decided by Work and Income based on your circumstances. For eligibility and how to apply, see workandincome.govt.nz or talk to your case manager. What we can do is help you collect written quotes from verified drivers, free of charge.
